This is John Bartlebal with the USA Today with a few notes about a quick phone call I had with David Dunn as he was in the hospital.

Bartlebal: How are you feeling?

Dunn: That's a stupid question. Did you even see my match?

Bartlebal: Sorry. So are you healing up okay?

Dunn: I'll be fine, but I won't be out of the hospital any time soon.

Bartlebal: I know people want to know how you've been but the big news is about the death of Buzz Stone.

Dunn: I really don't want to comment on it. All I will say is that he'll be missed.

Bartlebal: Fair enough. What are your plans now that your business seems to be finished with Cain?

Dunn: Things are far from over. You see, I said I was going to make Cain go out on a stretcher but I didn't finish the job. I didn't, I didn't do what I said I would do. Because of that, this thing isn't going to be over between us. In fact, the only way this is ever going to be over between us is if one of us isn't around any more. I look at my career, my life, and I've done almost everything I said I was going to do. I feel I can do more, but not with Sean Cain around. That's why, when I'm healed, and the doctors say I'm cleared to wrestle, I want to step into that ring one more time with Sean Cain. And...and if I can't beat him, if I'm not the one standing over hid bloody and beaten body as the announcer says that I'm the winner and the new Chaos Champion...I'll...I'll retire from the RPW as a wrestler forever.

Bartlebal: So you'll put up your career?

Dunn: That's what I said.

Bartlebal: But why? You already know Cain isn't the one who tried to kill you.

Dunn: It's about something Cain doesn't know anything about...pride. He touched my son, he laid his hands on my only child, because of that, he's going to suffer more than any person alive and if I can't get the job done, I'll hang up my wrestling boots and try to find some kind of peace. At least I have the knowledge that my son can carry on my legacy in someway.

Bartlebal: Those are powerful words. I know you're still trying to recover so I'll let you be.

Dunn: No problem.

I'll try to get ahold of Mr. Dunn later this week for more information but as it seems he is dead set on finishing what he started, one way or another. This is John Bartletbal with the USA Today.

In two separate posts from RPW Chaos Champion Sean Cain's Myspace page this week, he gives us an update on his current condition:

08/31/2009

‘Hi World! I’m still alive. I know that it looked bleak towards the final minutes of the match, but I’m still alive. I just watched the replay of the match and wondered ‘what the hell was I thinking with that spear?’ The good news is the Chaos Champion is still in one piece after an untold amount of stitches and two blood transfusions. I feel like Frankenstein’s monster right now. The bad news is these damn British doctors will not release me to be part of Crossfire. Bastards. Guess I’m going to have to sit here and rot until they let me at least fly back to the states. Unfortunately, I’m sitting here thinking about Buzz Stone’s suicide. I guess the pressure got too much for him. Poor guy.. All we can do now is let the show go on and pray that everything falls into place. That’s what Buzz would have wanted. I just got to get out of this damn place. Maybe, I’ll be out of here to make an appearance at Crossfire.’

“God.. I hate the medical community. I’m still stuck in the damn hospital. Nothing is wrong with me.. well physically. These idiots just want to keep me here for observation. It sucks because I had plans to go to Buzz’s funeral. Sigh. Well I guess that he knows that I would be there if these quacks would release me. At least I know the day I will be discharged. 9/9/09… and guess where I’ll be?”

Funeral Services for Buzz Stone, More PDF Print E-mail

Buzz Stone's funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 2. It will be a small service for friends and families. Ricochet asks that fans please respect Buzz's family at this time.

In the wake of tragedy, more news is coming out as to what lead to Buzz's suicide. It appears that Ricochet was in even more financial strife than previously thought even with Daniel James's money. Both Anthony Rigby and Melanie Cohen, the minority owners of Ricochet, were looking for their own solution to the situation as Buzz had become unwilling to work on a solution with them, trying to come up with his own way out. Neither of them knew of the connection to Daniel James that Buzz had developed to save Ricochet at the end of last year. Rigby and Cohen were considered more cuts and possibly liquidation of several Ricochet assets in order to stay afloat, as well as have been looking for a fourth partner.

With Buzz's death, and the fact that Rigby and Cohen are now accountable for any debts, it is unknown as to how they will pay off James's loan. Daniel James has yet to be reached for comment. After spending the night at Spire Alexandria Hospital, James used his resources to transfer himself to a private facility near his home in Florida having suffered an orbital fracture from Buzz's attack at Collision.

At this point, it is still unclear as to what Ricochet's future holds.

Buzz Stone to appear on Nothing Nice to Say PDF Print E-mail

It was announced today that, despite everything that is going on with Ricochet Pro Wrestling, Buzz Stone flew to the United States to film an upcoming episode of the web only AWA series, Nothing Nice to Say, hosted by WTF superstar "The Bastard Icon" Eric Dillinger and former WTF referee Michael Albertson. It is unknown when the episode will air, but Buzz is said to be already have returned to England, preparing for Ricochet's supercard Collision.

Many people internally find it troubling that with the return of Daniel James, demanding to be paid back his loan or he'll foreclose on Ricochet, that Buzz would take the time to do this interview, while others believe that this trip may have served another purpose as he may have had held another meeting while he was there, prior to the interview, however, it is unknown if this is true or not.
